I heard from my doctor's office. He isn't in today, so I got the call from the craptastic nurse or whatever that I can't stand. I must reiterate that she should not be allowed to have contact with patients like me (the babylost).
The biopsy came back "benign". That means there's nothing wrong with me that they've found yet. So why the fuck is this happening OVER AND OVER AGAIN??
Sorry about that.
I'm so frustrated with my body. I don't consider this good news. It's just another opportunity for invalidation because apparently there are no answers.
My therapist emailed me earlier today about something called PAI 1. He sent me a link to a medical blog or something:
http://www.healthline.com/blogs/pregnancy_childbirth/2007/09/pai-1-polymorphisms-and-recurrent.html
This is the original post that received all the comments from the woman with recurrent pregnancy loss:

And a subsequent post following up on the first link:

I don't know if I've been tested for that or not.
I'll have to wait until at least Monday to hear from my doctor to find out what this all means and what to do next.
Should I even bother anymore?

I KNOW how frustrating it is to keep getting tests back that say everything is fine. Especially when things CLEARLY are not. I always say it is really sad when you wish they could find something wrong with you just so you can have an answer bu that is how we feel. Those studies are interesting. I had never heard of PA1 even with having PCOS. I am going to talk to my RE about that and I will be interested to hear what yours has to say. Hang in there and I hope you (and I) get your answers soon!
I have PAI 1 (4G). It is a clotting disorder that caused me 2 miscarriages (one in the 1st trimester and 1 in the 2nd trimester).
They do it with part of the genetic testing now. Have you had the 20 vials of blood taken for testing about clotting disorders? It is a "newer" clotting disorder that has only been tested for in the last 5 years.
The "cure" is blood thinners as soon as you find out that you are pregnant.
Michelle,
Do you have any blood clotting issues? Let us know what your RE says about PAI 1.
Shanti Mama,
I emailed my RE in Boston about it, she emailed me back and said that it's not usually tested for but that I wouldn't have to do anything differently because I would take lovenox anyway due to APS. I've had tons of blood work done, but I don't know if I was tested for that. We'll see how this month goes...
Hi Shannon-
I just found your blog thru a comment on Heather's.
I am so sorry that you ave had so many losses! It just is not right. You'd think a whole team of doctors could figure something out, right?
I wish you lots of luck this month
